Our Story

At an early age, Jordan Ramer, founder of EV Connect, decided to make it his mission to confront what he saw as an existential threat to our planet—environmental pollution and its impacts on society. Jordan needed a job too, and he paired his personal interest in protecting the environment with his professional goals in the burgeoning clean energy and transportation industry, by joining AeroVironment, manufacturer of the first EV fast-charging stations, in a marketing and business development role. Between his experience at AeroVironment, Tesla's early success with its Roadster electric vehicle, and launches of on-road electric vehicles by mainstream automakers such as GM and Nissan, Jordan realized that site owners, parking lot managers, fleet operators, and utilities would need a way to manage the complex and diverse infrastructure required to meet EV drivers’ rapidly expanding charging station requirements. In 2009, Jordan formed EV Connect to address that challenge. 

When electric vehicles first hit the road, troubleshooting malfunctioning EV stations was a cumbersome, manual process that required days to properly diagnose and fix. We recognized it would be impossible for the EV market to thrive under this model and were inspired to begin creating tools that would enable the monitoring, management, and maintenance of thousands of charging stations from a single dashboard.

While most EV charging station manufacturers focused on developing closed systems that would lock customers into their hardware, we prioritized development of an open standards solution and designed our tools to be hardware agnostic. The result—the EV Connect platform, which empowers site owners, parking lot managers, fleet operators, and utilities to easily manage the complex infrastructure necessary to satisfy the evolving needs of EV drivers.

EV Connect has grown to be a leading provider of electric vehicle charging solutions for commercial, enterprise, hospitality, healthcare, educational, and government facilities. Clients including Marriott, Hilton, Dell, Panda Restaurant, New York Power Authority, along with numerous municipalities and commercial enterprises that depend on EV Connect today can grow and expand with EV Connect in the future.
