Jeanette Derbyshire is a property manager at Old Pasadena Collection Apartments and oversees 91 units at multiple locations. Jeanette was tasked with exploring electric vehicle charging as an amenity for residents. Her research team began its search online and evaluated many EV charging companies and the services, costs, and customer support each company provided.

The Challenge
Old Pasadena Collection Apartments had several important issues to consider. The properties needed a turnkey, full service solution that residents could quickly start using to charge their electric vehicles, while also delivering the best price. The biggest challenge was compliance with local and federal statutes, as well as very strict ADA compliance specifications for parking spaces.
The Solution
EV Connect delivered the combination of price, convenience, and compliance that was critical to the client. EV Connect proposed installation of several EV chargers at multiple locations while ensuring that spots were permitted, spaced properly, painted, and ADA compliant, right down to the slope of the cement, while working quickly so not disrupt the tenants. Jeanette was also pleasantly surprised that 10% of her residents owned EVs and “a few of them went out and bought Teslas!”
The Results
“Our residents are really happy to have this service and the utilization has been through the roof.” says Jeanette, “However, the best outcome of our electric vehicle charging stations is our owner loves the income they provide to the property. It’s been wonderful to see our residents’ excitement about the amenity, but that it's also providing an income for ownership has been a huge plus.”
