Delivering Enhanced Guest Experience and Sustainability
Marriott Hotel EV Charging Project saw rapid results in the first 3 months of operations.
Background on Marriott Texas Hotel & Convention Center
A Marriott Hotel & Convention Center in Texas, built in 2019, boasts 300 rooms, 79,000 square feet of viewing space, and a 40,000 square foot convention center, with 1,000 parking spots. The hotel serves a diverse clientele, including group travel, corporate events, and social functions, making it essential to provide top-notch facilities and services, including EV charging stations.
The Need for Change
Implementation Process and Smooth Onboarding
The transition to EV Connect was swift and efficient. The contract was signed in December, and the installation and commissioning were completed by January. EV Connect’s proactive management of contractor issues ensured that the hotel did not incur any additional costs.
The Hotel Manager recognized the need to replace the hotel’s existing EV chargers, which had been in use since the hotel’s opening in 2019. The original chargers were showing wear and tear, and operational and maintenance issues were becoming frequent. The lack of control over pricing and the absence of a user-friendly platform further drove the decision to seek a new solution.
Choosing EV Connect
After researching EV charging solutions, the Hotel Manager discovered EV Connect, the preferred Marriott provider for turnkey EV charging solutions. EV Connect provided a compelling solution with its user-friendly system, offering complete control over pricing and an intuitive dashboard for operational visibility.
“EV Connect took ownership of an issue that wasn’t their fault but owned the correction and resolution. It’s rare to see such customer service nowadays,”

Achieving Results: Operational and Financial Success
Since the installation, the Marriott Hotel in Texas, has seen rapid results. Within the first three months:
97 charge sessions were recorded
From 81 unique drivers
Resulting in $1,500 in revenue, equivalent of several more rooms booked
Most importantly, the hotel received zero complaints about the new charging stations, a stark contrast to the previous frequent issues.
Enhanced Operational Visibility with EV Connect Dashboard
The EV Connect Dashboard has become an invaluable tool for the Marriott property, providing high visibility into charging operations and revenue. The intuitive layout allows him to access all necessary information in one place, making it easier to generate reports and manage the system efficiently.
“Having everything in one page without having to search for things is fantastic. The layout of the platform allows me to dig into the tiles and get the right data to whoever is asking for it. Reporting is simple and all in one place.”
Peace of Mind with EV Connect Shield
The EV Connect Shield service plan provided additional reassurance. It guaranteed that any parts and labor issues would be promptly addressed without incurring extra costs, ensuring continuous operation without downtime.
“Shield helped provide peace of mind that if a piece of equipment broke, we wouldn’t have to find the capital to fix it. It means that EV Connect will be there and take care of issues. We haven’t had any downtime but the bigger point is I wouldn’t even know there was any downtime because with Shield coverage, EV Connect would recognize an issue and dispatch a tech to fix it.”
