What is the Eversource EV Charging Program?
Eversource is offering a Massachusetts EV Charging program to incentivize the installation of EV charging equipment, including Level 2 charging stations and Direct current fast chargers (DCFCs) for light-duty EVs. Eligible sites could receive funding to help offset infrastructure costs for thousands of new charging stations and help increase access to electric vehicles across Massachusetts. The Eversource Massachusetts EV Charging Program is available for all commercial and industrial Eversource electric service customers.

The program is open to any Eversource business customer, including workplace, retail destinations, public locations, multifamily properties, municipal or EJC locations.
Workplace—Eversource funds up to 50% of the make-ready infrastructure costs for Level 2 approved projects.
Multifamily— Eversource funds up to 50% or $2,000 per port of make-ready infrastructure costs for Level 2 approved projects.
Public—Eversource funds up to 50% of the make-ready infrastructure costs and eligible EVSE hardware for Level 2 or up to $40,000 per port for DCFC approved projects.
Fleet—Eversource funds up to 100% of the make-ready infrastructure costs for Level 2 and DCFC approved projects. You could also receive up to 50% or $2,000 for eligible Level 2 EVSE hardware.
Municipality—Eversource funds up to 50% of make-ready infrastructure costs for Level 2 approved projects, up to 50% of the cost for eligible Level 2 EVSE hardware, with an additional rebate of $480 per port a year for eligible Level 2 network costs.
*Customers in EJ communities may qualify for up to 75% - 100% funding of infrastructure and equipment costs for Level 2 or DCFC approved projects with an additional rebate for up to $120 - $480 per port a year for network costs (4 years). The following criteria needs to be met before you can host an EV charging station.
You are a non-residential Eversource customer, or the owner/manager of a multi-unit building.
You own, lease or operate a site that provides long-dwelling time parking (two hours or more). This includes public parking areas, retail and mall parking, workplaces, colleges and universities, government properties and multi-unit dwellings.
Your parking lot is located at a site where Eversource owns the existing distribution infrastructure.
You can provide a license and easement to Eversource for construction and maintenance of the infrastructure that leads to the charging station.
You are willing to purchase the electric charging stations as well as pay the associated costs of their connection to the infrastructure.
